 Recycled Steel/Stainless Steel Artworks

The AeroplaneAcross various Australian states and territories, alongside the outback, on land that is baked by an unforgiving sun, slowly being covered by drifting earth and stunted shrubs lie the remnant steel of past farming.  These machines once contributed to the feeding of a nation, now they lie redundant, superseded by newer forms of farm machinery.

SaxophonistArtist Martin Keogh gives new life to this old steel, collecting scrap from a family station in the Willandra Lakes region of NSW, home to the Mungo Man, and a site where Burke and Wills stopped on their ill-fated trip in 1860. The Tango

This environmental art makes the discarded something of value once again. The pieces undergo the least amount of modification possible when forming their new identity. From the scrap heap to the home, garden, office, these unique one of a kind sculptures are currently held in galleries, private collections and corporate collections.
